I've experience planting them on the garden and they are

not so sensitive and quite easy to grow. The vegetable is said to belong to the family of cabbage but it is not rounded and shaped like a head or a ball. Instead it has thick white stalks with rounded dark green leaves like an iceberg lettuce.

The vegetable is common to China and they call it bok choy but here

it is known as pechay. It looks very much the same too with leaf mustards.

Bok choy is a perfect source of vitamins C, A and K so avoid overcooking the leaves to get the full benefits of the this vegetable. Bok choy is also good for fighting cancers because of its antioxidants chemicals like glucosinolates and kaempferol. It can also be a good source of easy to absorb calcium which is good for the bones. They can also be taken frequently and it will provide less calories so it's also good for the weight conscious.

Young children would appreciate easily having bok choy or pechay in their diet. It can be sauteed with ground pork and then use tamarind soup base and it blends well with the sour taste of tamarind.
